The Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau is the focal agency to
the following Multilateral Environmental Agreements:
(1) Convention on Biological
Diversity;

Mobilized the
Sub-Committee on CBD through meetings
·
Organized the
Philippine celebration of the International Day for Biological
Diversity through biodiversity/climate change forum and lecture
series
(2) Convention on the
Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals;
(3) Convention on the
International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and
Flora;
·
As of
October 2007, issued 1,195 CITES permits and generated an income
of Php3,178,337.69.
(4)
Convention of Wetlands of International Importance Especially as
Waterfowl Habitat (Ramsar Convention);
and
(5) Cartagena Protocol on
Biosafety
·
Attended the
Biosafety Clearing House Task Force meetings
·
Participated in
the drafting of the Executive Order 514 Implementing Rules and
Regulations
·
Drafted the
Environmental Impact and Biosafety Assessment of Genetically
Modified Organisms
