PAWB continues to implement the
provisions of the NIPAS Act (R.A. 7586) which redefined the
national parks system, based on the principles of sustainable
development and biodiversity conservation.

Provided comments
for and attended the deliberation first reading of 22 draft
Protected Area bills during the 14th Congress in
January 2008
·
Reviewed and
provided recommendations on the following documents in relation
to the monitoring of Protected Area Management:
o
PAMB appointments
of five (5) protected areas
o
PAMB minutes of
meetings of 19 protected areas
o
PAMB resolutions
passed in nine (9) protected areas
o
IPAF collection
reports in nine (9) protected areas
o
IPAF Special
budget request/disbursement report of Mt. Pulag NP (CAR)

Monitored the collection of fees, contributions, etc. in 146
Protected Areas with IPAF which generated a total income of
Php42,413,551.47
·
In the
implementation of Community-Based Programs (CBP) in protected
areas, the maps showing the relative location of the approved
tenurial instruments within four (4) regions were evaluated
