| THE
AREA |

A famous
landmark in the metropolis conveniently located at the heart
of Quezon City, the Park simulates a natural forest setting
enhanced with recreational facilities to serve as a breather
from the site of high rise buildings and concrete structures.
It serves as a venue for public education, and nature recreation
activities with opportunities to enjoy fresh air and pleasant
surroundings, learn new facts about plants and animals,
commune with nature, meet new friends, and relax aching
muscles.

Buildings
and Offices
|
| |
The
main building or Administration Building No.1 is characterized
by unique architectural design which depicts the traditional
salakot, a native hat worn during the pre-Spanish era. It
presently houses the Office of the Assistant Director, the
Planning staff and the Pawikan Conservation Project of PAWB.
Behind the main building, is the Administration Building
No. 2 that is occupied by the Office of the PAWB Director,
Wildlife Resources Division, Nature Recreation and Extension
Division, Protected Area Community Management Division,
and the Administrative and Finance Division.
The IPAS PCU near the basketball court presently houses
the Biodiversity Management Division. The offices of the
Park Superintendent, National Integrated Protected Areas
Project, National Biosafety Framework Project and the satellite
Office of the ASEAN Regional Center for Biodiversity Conservation
occupy the farm-type cottages (or craft village) and buildings
located at the northern side of the lagoon.

Aquino Monument

This
bust, done by sculptor Peter de Guzman, was constructed in honor
of the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr., a
social and political reformist whose assassination led to the
famous People's Revolution or People's Power Revolution in 1986. |

Don
Jose Sanvictores Grove
|
| |
This
grove was established in honor of Don Jose Sanvictores,
a foremost lumberman conservationist who pioneered the practice
of selective logging and was the first to implement second
cycle harvest in its concession, the Aras-asan Timber Co.
in Eastern Mindanao.

Craft
Village
|
| |
This
farm-type facility composed of cottages serves as operational
offices of PAWB Projects.

Wildlife
Rescue Center
|
| |
|
|
The
Center serves as a repository and rehabilitation facility
for confiscated, donated and/or abandoned wildlife. It also
serves as a venue for public education and as a training and
research facility for future veterinarians and biologists.
The Center is also a source of wildlife stock for local zoos
and DENR-accredited facilities/institutions for their public
education, breeding and other conservation-oriented undertakings.

Lagoon
|
|
| |
Formerly a mini forest until
it was quarried of adobe stone deposits in 1960. This 2.5
ha. lagoon which serves as habitat to introduced "hito"
and "tilapia" adds to the beauty of the tranquil
park.

Fishing
Village

|
Consists of 5 cottages of
native architectural design.Its setting near the lagoon makes
the fishing village ideal for civic, religious and other social
functions.

Constructed with Filipino
indigenous materials, this is available for rent and can be
used for workshops, seminars,meetings and
the like.
