INTEGRATED PROTECTED AREA FUND (IPAF)

IPAF is a trust fund established as a provision of the 1992 NIPAS Act (Sec. 16), to receive donations and endowments as well as to collect fees as authorized by the Secretary of the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). IPAF is designed to sustain some of the costs of protected area management and infrastructure, and to ensure self-financing PA management.

Mt. Isarog protected area was able to setup an IPAF sub-account (401-044) but a proper trust fund has yet to be established as required by the NIPAS Act. Meantime funds are deposited to a bank on a current account. As of September 30, 2000, the balance is of P 89,853. a training on how to setup and manage the IPAF was conducted for PAMB members in May 2000 and a follow up training was done in October 19, 2000.
