The natural vegetation is lowland forest, with beach forest and mangroves along the coast. Plantations, secondary growth and open grassland have replaced have replaced much of the forest

Species Diversity Birds: Polypedates macrotis, Rhacophorus everetti, Prioniturus platenae, Egretta eulophotes, Ducula pickeringii, Cyornis lemprieri, Prionochilus plateni, Anthracoceros marchei, Parus amabilis, Cacatua haematuropygia, Chloropsis palawanensis

Mammals: Arctictis binturong, Sus barbutus, Tursiops truncates, Balaenoptera acutorostrata

Several threatened and restricted-range species of the Palawan Endemic Bird Area were recorded including the threatened Grey Imperial-pigeon, Blue-headed Racquet-tail and Palawan Hornbill, and unconfirmed reports of the Philippine Cockatoo.

Threats
External Source of Change

Treats to the habitats include cutting of timber, agricultural expansion, burning of vegetation and the collection of forest product. Exploitation of birds is also reported.
