It retains patches of open canopy broadleaf lowland forest, consisting of small to medium sized trees on poor soil, found both along the ridges and on flat areas.

Birds: Terpsiphone cyanescens, Prioniturus platenae, Prionochilus plateni, Cyornis lemprieri, Anthracoceros marchei, Polyplectron emaphanum, Cacatua haematuropygia, Copsychus niger, Chloropsis palawanensis

Mammals: Sus barbutus, Tursiops truncates, Axis calamianensis

It is a reserved area as a leper colony under the Department of Health and the provincial government.
